【ウガンダ共和国】
ウガンダ共和国（ウガンダきょうわこく）、通称ウガンダはアフリカ東部に位置する共和制国家。ケニア、スーダン、コンゴ民主共和国、ルワンダ、タンザニアに囲まれた内陸国である。首都はカンパラ。
ナイル川（白ナイル）の始まるビクトリア湖に接している。旧イギリス植民地。
ウガンダは東アフリカ高原に位置し、平均標高1,100mで北のスーダン平原になだらかに下る。中部にキョガ湖があり、南部と共に湿地帯である。全体がナイル盆地の中にあり、ナイル川の水はキョガ湖に続き、コンゴ民主共和国との国境のアルバート湖に注ぎ、そこから北のスーダンに流れる。
2007年11月29日 ウガンダでエボラ出血熱が発生し、51人が感染し、16人が死亡した。新種のエボラウィルスである。(Wikipediaより）
